NORTHERN CHINA

RAILWAY INTERRUPTIONS

(Received July 29, 1 p.m.) . PEKING, July 28. As a result of.the disastrous floods and torrential rains which have stopped the Japanese military operations in North China, only one of the four railways from Peking is operating. Hundreds of houses in Pekinghave collapsed. The anti-British campaign is being intensified in Peking, and the city is flooded with posters. Residents of Hong Kong heard a terrific naval bombardment which preceded the landing of Japanese forces on the farther side of the Pearl River delta, 60 miles distant, in a new effort to invade the Chungshan district. Marines landed and penetrated to Fuyungshan and Wangchiawal and are appi'oaching Shekki.
