RELATED TO SPANISH LAD

In addition to Spanish Lad, the southern trainer R. McNay took Nigger Boy with- him to Riccarton, and the rising three-year-old will be produced at the Christchurch Hunt Meeting. Nigger Boy is a half-brother by Nigger Minstrel to Spanish Lad, and so far he has raced only once, when he finished fourth in the Joh. Grigg Stakes at the beginning of the year. He may not have done sufficient work to show up in his engagements at coming meetings, but the racing is expected to bring him to his best for early spring events. A high opinion is held of him, and he has only to train on to make a name for himself in the new season.
