TO BID FAREWELL
MR. AND MRS. ARMOUR ENTERTAIN
Spring flowers and Iceland poppies were set in bowls about both receptionrooms in Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Armour's home in Wellington College yesterday afternoon, when a number of old friends of Dr. and Mrs. J. W. McIlra'ijth gathered at a farewell party in their honour. Mr. Mcllraith during his term of office as chief inspector of primary schools has made a very wide circle of friends, and his intention to make his future home in Auckland is regretted by his Wellington colleagues. Mr. Mcllraith, who has only recently retired, with his wife will lea re on Monday for the north.
Several speeches were made during the afternoon, although the party was very informal. Mrs. Armour, who received the guests with her husband, was wearing a hostess gown of gentian blue velvet!. The Misses Margaret and Alison Armour assisted their parents in entertaining the guests. " i
