TWO MEMBERS AS HOSTESSES
A pleasant afternoon was spent by members of the Women's Study Circle at the social given by two of its members, Mesdames Popple and Walsh. A play-reading, entitled "My Herbert Says," was given by the drama group of the Elizabeth McCombs Club, and was warmly applauded. Mesdames Popple and Walsh played a piano duet and Mrs. MacGlasham Smith gave two humorous recitations. A dainty afternoon tea was served, and the afternoon closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the hostesses by the president, Mrs. Mitchell, and members.
Here's a speed-record way of making chocolate sauce for the sweet course, simply add half an ounce of cocoa to a pint of hot custard and mix well.
Squeezing fruit-juice need not mean straining afterwards because it can all be done at once. Dome-shaped lemon squeezers made of coloured unbreakable ware can be bought with silver-plated detachable metal strainers, to catch the pulp.
