STEAM TRAWLERS

86 FOR NAVAL PURPOSES

LONDON, July 26.

The naval correspondent of the 1 "Daily Telegraph" says that at a cost of £200,000 the Admiralty has purchased 86 modern steam trawlers tor use as minesweeper? and for other naval purposes. They will be delivered to the Admiralty after their return from the fishing grounds.

The effect on the fishing industry will be counter-balanced by lifting the existing restrictions regarding landings at Hull and Grimsby, enabling the re maining trawlers to work to full capacity.
