MAN'S SUDDEN DEATH
BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN
CHOKED
A potato chip wedged in the throat is believed to have caused the death of Mr. Ray Marshall, married, a motor mechanic, aged about 43. and living at 155 Ghuznee Street, who collapsed and died after suddenly leaving,his meal at a city restaurant early this morning.
Shortly after midnight Mr. Marshall, accompanied by two companions, went to a restaurant in Wakefield Street for supper. Mr. Marshall, who was ordinarily a man in a good state of health, ordered a meal which included potato chips. When he was in the middle of the meal he became convulsed and attempted to rush out' on to the street, presumably because' he thought he would be sick At the door, of the restaurant he collapsed, the ambulance was called, and he was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced■ life extinct. The doctors " discovered that a potato chip was wedged in his throat, and it is concluded that this was the cause of his death. A number of people were in the restaurant at the time and. witnessed the occurrence. _____________
