DANZIG SITUATION

COMMISSIONER SEES SIGNS

OF GOOD WILL

(Received July 27. 1.30 p.m.)

DANZIG, July 25.

Professor Burckhardt, League High Commissioner in Danzig, interviewed by the British United Press, said:

"The situation in Danzig has definitely improved. Here and there I find signs of good will which reveal a desire, to ameliorate the atmosphere. A large dose of ill will from outside would be necessary for Danzig to reach a tragic issue."'
