WITHOUT PRECEDENT
SNOW AT GISBORNE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
GISBORNS, This Day.
Without precedent in living memory, there was a sustained snowfall in the town of Gisborne this morning. Lawns and gardens were mantled in white and even in Main Street there were small drifts agains the buildings and on the roofs. Early reports from outlying districts suggest experience was varied. On the Wharerata Range a blizzard was experienced and traffic on the main road to Napier may be interrupted. Lorries employed on railway construction work found the roads impassable. Inland towards the north the fall was lighter.
