TECHNICAL DRAW WITH HUIA 111
Considering the heavy state of the ground, the game between Technical and Huia 111 at the Hutt Recreation Ground was fast with a good deal of bright play, and after a bard tussle the teams drew, 4-4. Adopting spoiling tactics, Huia gave Technical little chance in the first spell, and their smart combination gave them opportunities of which they were quick to take full advantage. Technical played a much-improved game in the second spell, and with a series of penetrating attacks gradually reduced their opponents lead ot 4-1. When Technical had drawn level towards the end, both sides made vigorous efforts to obtain the lead, but the defence was too. sound to allow of further scoring. Garbett, centreforward, who scored all foui goals for Technical, was outstanding, and two of his goals were the result or a brilliant solo effort. The Huia defence was good on the whole. Cruick shank. left full-back, being prominent. Hula's goals were scored by Williamson (2), Plunkett. and Martin. The umpires were Messrs. W. R. Keys and B. H. Thomson.
