The annual report of the Island Bay Bowling Club shows that the membership is 90 ordinary members, Hevenue from subscriptions amounted to £339 15s, and competitions fees realised £13 17s. Receipts from refreshments totalled £02 10s, and yielded a profit of £9 19s lOd. The billiard tables produced £28 7s, an increase over last year by £3 5s Id. Sunday play receipts were a record, being £50. The balancesheet shows an excess of income over expenditure of £2 0s 7d. "Throughout the season the greens played very well, and during the closing stages were probably at their best," the report states. "Visitors commented favourably upon the playing surfaces. The work of top-dressing and sowing was completed in good time, and with the main green in splendid condition prospects for next year are bright. Considerable improvements have been made about the grounds, and these should enhance the general appearance of the property. The greenkeeper, Mr. J." Boyes, has attended to his duties in a , satisfactory manner."
