Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Johns have, left their flat at Oriental Bay and have taken up their residence at Sayes Court. Miss Nelle Scanlan has gone to Hastings, where she will speak at the English-speaking Union's luncheon on Tuesday, American Independence Day. She will be the guest of Mrs. G. J. Herrick, "Lindisfarrie." Mrs. E. A. Curlett, Hastings, is in Wellington for the races, and is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. R. G. Chapman, Day's Bay. Miss, Cushla de Lange, Auckland, who arrived from Christchurch on Friday, is making a short visit to Wellington. She is staying at the Hotel St. George. j Miss Norma Williams returned to; Nelson by plane this morning after paying, a short visit to Wellington. j Mrs. D. J. Malone and Miss Molly j Malone, Stratford, are visiting Wellington for the races. I Mrs. M. Waters, Hataitai, and Mrs. A. L. Hills, Brooklyn, will leave tbmor- ! row by the Maunganui for a trip to the South Sea Islands. iaiss Viola Manning, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to; her home in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Longuet, Sumner, have left for a month's holiday in Auckland, where they will visit their i son, Mr. Louis Longuet. Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Craikp, Hastings, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Percy, Masterton. Mrs. C. A. Beaufort, Napier, is making a brief visit to Wellington, and is the guest of her mother, Mrs. P. R. Petch. Mrs. Harold Chapman Taylor, Stratford, who, with her husband, has been a visitor to Wellington during the Dairy Conference, left for her new home on Saturday via Napier and Palmerston North. Among Wellington visitors to Napier and Hastings for the B.M.S. concert on Friday night were Mr. and Mrs: Burgessi Miss Joy Sutherland, Mr. H. Temple White (who was the conductor at the concert), and Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Foster. The Misses Livingstone, Gisborne, who have been visiting New Plymouth, are staying in Wellington before returning, home. Mrs. R. H. Free, Eltham, is spending holiday in' Wellington. Guests at the Hotel St. George include Mrs, L. G. Morgan (Perth), Mrs. R. T. Reid (Hamilton), and Mrs M. E. Thorpe (New Plymouth). Mrs. R. W. Orton, Mrs. H. D. Bates, Mrs. S. Barton (Wanganui), Mrs. J. Jull (Hunterville), Mrs. S. C. Tonks (Hawera), Mrs. H. J. Shield (Patea), Mrs A. McGregor Grant (Auckland), and Miss C. M. Tonks (Hawera) are staying .at the Royal Oak Hotel. Staying at the Empire Hotel are Mrs. Mi Miles, Mrs. A. H. Templetpn (Dunedin), Mrs. A. Fossey, Mrs. R. Sarten (New Plymouth), Mrs. L. jftodder (Inglewood), and Miss A. •jKirkwood (Stratford).
