AUSTRALIAN CANNED FRUITS.

A report issued by the Australian Canned Fruit Board shows that for the first five months* of the present year (ended May 31) 809,639 cases of canned fruit were exported, against 815,393 cases for the same period last year. Peaches headed the list with j a total of 443,650 cases. There were 100,873 cases of apricots and 231,878 cases of pears, with smaller quantities of other canned fruits. Most of the fruit exported went to the United Kingdom, which took a total of 729,029 cases. Canada took 19,413 cases and New Zealand 17,644 cases. The remainder went to miscellaneous countries.
