WELLINGTON V. UNIVERSITY

Although play in the Wellington-University game, at Karori Park, was inclined to be dull, both sides showed plenty of vigour. In the first half Wellington seemed to have the Vbetter of the exchanges, and their two goals, scored very early in the game, gave them a substantial lead. University, however, soon rallied, and in a series of determined rushes gained the advantage and won, 3-2. Both teams were poor in positional play, and many opportunities went begging because nobody was able to take advantage of them. Goals were scored for University by Cole, Shaw, and Braithwaite, and Wellington's goals were scored by Fernevumdpir^bSvvere Messrs C. E. Gardine* and E. Last-Harris.
