CENTRAL MEETING PLACE

The idea of having central rooms for the use of all sports bodies in Wellington is something which has been' talked about from time to time for some years, but that is about as far as it has got. When the annual meeting of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association was held about a month ago the subject was revived during .discussion, on a room for the secretary of the association. Mr. H. Amos. ;

It was mentioned that Mr. Amos had put forward the suggestion of quarters that not only would serve the purposes of the-Olympic and Empire Games Association but which would also be acceptable to other sports bodies. Mr. A. C. Kitto, president of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre, who for a long time has been a keen advocate of such a step, and other members present supported the proposal, and the. meeting decided to ask Mr. Amos to make inquiries from other sports bodies to ascertain their views on it. As an outcome, all sports bodies in Wellington are being invited to send representatives to a meeting to be held on June L
