DEVELOPED STAMINA LATE

The biggest surprise at the Forburff Park Trotting Club's Meeting wat the form displayed by the aged gelding College Boy, who dead-heated with King Potts for first place in the Royal Handicap. He has raced for I several years with little success. High! hopes were held early regarding his i future, but after winning a race at Waikouaiti he appeared to lose all* form. For several months he was > * trained by E. J. Smith, and later went to Southland, where he also failed to : race up to his private form. In addition to being an apparent cheat, he' could not stay out a mile and a quarter, and when he battled out a liard finish over the last furlong of-a twomile race at Forbury and dead-heated, with a promising young horse like King Potts, tiae "heads" in the sport were left gasping. He registered 4mm 26 l-ssec for the journey.
