"NOT CONCERNED"
FAIR TREATMENT EXPECTED
"We are not concerned; not nearly so concerned as some people would like us to be," the representative of an importing firm concerned mainly with the building trade stated, when asked to comment on*» import licensing. Licences had not yet been issued at Wellington, but other branches had secured licences and they expected fair treatment.
Paints and mirrors were manufactured locally, he said, but such things as window-glass, wallpapers, tiles, and so forth not made in New Zealand would have to be imported. He understood there would 'be no difficulty about getting requirements, and the licensing was expected to help the local manufacturer of paints, etc.
