According to present plans, January 6 is the date provisionally fixed for the opening of the experimental airmail, service between England and New York.
The Air Ministry hopes to experiment in the running of a regular seasonal > service by means of C class flying-boats refuelled in the air. The project has been rendered technically possible by experiments over the last fifteen months.
, The early months of 1939 will be taken up with trials at various points in flight and refuelling over the actual route itself in the light of results of experiments hitherto conducted on the south coast.
