TEMPORARY BASE

FLYING-BOAT SERVICE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A site is being cleared today at Mechanic's Bay near the city for a temporary base for the AucklandSydney flying-boat service, and for the erection of an administrative block, workshop, and testing house.

The chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. W. B. Darlow, with representatives of Union Airways, inspected the site today. Mr. Darlow said that he was not yet in a position to make a statement but it was a matter of such importance to the board that he was convening a special meeting of the board for Tuesday.
