STILL QUIET
THE POLITICAL FRONT
PRIME MINISTER HAS A HOLIDAY AT HOME
With a number of Ministers still out of town, activities in the Ministerial offices in Parliament Buildings have not yet resumed at full pressure after the holidays. It is expected that next week normal conditions will obtain, and no doubt the * first Cabinet meeting of the New Year will be called shortly to deal with business that has accumulated during the vacation period.
The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) is feeling much refreshed after a restful respite from official duties, much of his time having been spent quietly at his residence in Molesworth Street. On most days he has found time to look in at his office for a few minutes, but it has been only to attend to urgent business.
The Minister of Lands (the Hon. F. Langstone) did not get very far away from his desk during the holidays, and, like the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), spent most of his time in Wellington.
