AMNESTIES GRANTED
POLITICAL PRISONERS
CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND HUNGARY
PRAGUE, January 2.
In accordance with the agreement between Czechoslovakia and Hungary of December 23, an amnesty has been granted to all Hungarian subjects arrested for political crimes, including even armed attacks against the enforcement of Czech laws. The pardons do not extend to members of movements aiming at the overthrow of social order, but include hundreds of members of terrorist organisations, many of whom are Hungarian regular soldiers who were captured in the recent disturbances.
Hungary is giving an amnesty to Czechs, but fewer are involved.
Hungary has sent a Note to Prague seriously objecting to continued hostile propaganda by Slovak radio stations.
