RECORD NUMBER DURING HOLIDAYS

NEW YORK, January 3,

jfhe police announced that 24 suicides occurred during the holidays, which is the highest total ever recorded Over a three-day period in the history of New York.

Five occurred on Saturday, 14 on Sunday, and five on Monday. Several suicide attempts failed.

The national total of accidental deaths is now more than 300.
