SYDNEY, January 2. Th* Australian New Year Honours list includes the following:— K.C.M.G. The Hon. H. E. Starke, Justice of the High Court of Australia. K.B.E. Mr. Reginald Marcus Clark, Sydney. The Hon. H. E. Manning, AttorneyGeneral of New South Wales. K.B. Mr. George Shaw Knowles, SolicitorGeneral of the Commonwealth of Australia, i Dr. John Ramsay, Launceston, Tasmania. Mr. William. Dixson, Sydney. The Hon. George Louis Goudie, M.L.C., Victoria. The Hon. Walter Duncan, M.L.C., Leader of the Legislative Council of South Australia. Mr. Justice Hayden Erskine Starke was called to the Victorian Bar in 1892 and has been a Justice of the High Court of Australia since 1920. Mr. Reginald Marcus Clark is a director of the well-known Australian firm of that name. Mr. George Shaw Knowles has been a public servant since 1898 and before becoming Solicitor-General in 1932 he was chief clerk and assistant Parliamentary draughtsman in the Attor-ney-General's Department.
The Hon. Walter Gordon Duncan has been leader of the Liberal Party in the South Australian Legislative Council, and is a director of many wellknown enterprises.
