MOTOR-CYCLIST AT CROSSING

CHRISTCHURCH, January 2,

Mr. Harry Blanchard, married, of 6 Konini Street, Riccarton, received serious injuries when the motor-cycle he was riding struck a carriage on a special train to Christchurch from Greymouth on a crossing at Islington about 4 p.m. today. Mr. Blanchard was taken to the Christchurch Hospital by a St. John ambulance. He ,has a fractured arm, fractured ribs, and shock. His condition, though serious at first, showed slight improvement at about 10 o'clock tonight.
