A SENSELESS ACT
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Would youv kindly permit me space to expose an unpleasant incident which befell me while driving • my car through a city street on Friday night last. I was proceeding : along Ghuznee Street at about 10 p.m. when! the occupant of an oncoming car threw an egg with full force against my face.! It struck me on the temple and I was momentarily dazed and narrowly avoided a serious ..jcident/ By the time I was fully aware of what had occurred the • other car, and above all its number, had disappeared. I. trust that the perpetrator now fully realises the possible serious consequence? which may have resulted from his unpardonable act and that next time he wishes to make merry he will avoid such dangerous practices. Damage to clothing and car upholstery would mean nothing to the type of individual provided it was not his ; property. Furthermore, his victim might easily have been a lady driver j for the glare of headlights in this area1 would give him little opportunity of ascertaining , During the New Year celebrations ! Wellington will again, we hope, be in carnival mood, but it is doubtless the earnest wish of all that acts endangering public safety and property will be avoided. —,1 am, etc., I SAFETY FIRST.
