The new shades are suggestive of hot sands, sea foam, the rolling main, and tropical skies. They are published in 'a forecast issued by the Dyers and Finishers' Association in Bradford. Button-makers, shoe, and hat designers, milliners, and makers of dress ornaments will follow these schemes with tropical colour motifs.

Other new shades a^re glen s grey, crayon pink, and basque green. Autumn tints this year include "moon dusk," a beautiful shade of blue/and "dawn gold.", New blues will mingle with subtle shades of green and brown.

The colours of gowns for dance and dinner wear will include such names as dianthus, gold dust, larch, Miami blue, and blue feather.
