OBITUARY
MR. G. W. MCGILL
The. death : occurred in Sydney on December 26 of Mr. George William McGill, formerly of Wellington and latterly of Lower Hutt. Mr. McGill had suffered from asthma for some years and went to Australia about two months ago on a health trip. The change brought an improvement in his health but a sudden heart attack caused his death.
The late Mr. McGill was born at Wellington sixty-nine years ago, his father, the late Mr. William McGill, being a well-known monumental mason and at one time a city councillor. Mr. George McGill learned his father's trade but retired some years ago, and during recent years resided with his daughter at Sherwood Avenue, Lower Hutt, He was a keen bowler and was well known to members of the Victoria Bowling Club when he lived in Wellington.
Mr. McGill leaves a family of four— Messrs. Emil George McGill (Brooklyn, Wellington), William Cyril McGill (Lower Hutt), and Mesdames W. N. Walker and K. Lockett (both of Lower Hutt). His wife died about five years ago. Messrs. Arthur and James McGill (Wellington) and Thomas McGill (Auckland) are brothers, and Miss Eliza McGill (Wellington) is a sister.
The body is being brought back to New Zealand and the funeral is expected to take place from Sherwood Avenue, Lower Hutt, to the Taita Cemetery on Tuesday next.
