PREPARING FOR CAMPS
During the next fortnight officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and warrant officers and N.C.O.s of the Permanent Staff will be attending the annual staff refresher courses in the three Military Districts. The course for the Northern Military District will be held at Narrow Neck Camp, whilst the' Central District will hold theirs at Trentham, and the Southern Military District course will be held at Burnham.
During the refresher course, an opportunity will be taken to cover a great amount of work necessitated by the coming Territorial camping season, which commences next February, and this and the camping season will throw an additional burden on administration due the considerably increased number of enlistments for the past twelve months.
As a result of experience gained during the recent crisis, a proportion of the refresher course has been allotted to the consideration and detailed preparation of mobilisation plans for the action of the Army in a national emergency. Wherever possible lessons gained will be applied to Territorial units during the present training season so that they will know exactly what their tasks will be if the necessity arises.
