YOUNG FRIENDS ENTERTAIN
Randw'ick School was gaily decorated with streamers and balloons on Saturday evening for the complimentary party for Miss Lavinia Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Benson received the guests. Mrs. Benson wore an attractive evening gown of midnight blue velvet trimmed with silver, and Miss Lavinia Benson wore mauve georgette trimmed with swansdown.
The supper-room was tastefully decorated with pink and mauve and the flowers were pink carnations and sweet peas. The three-tier cake was the centre of attraction with its pink and white icing and 21 kewpies.
The evening was pleasantly spent with games and competitions. Prizewinners were Mrs. A. McFadyen, Miss Betty Benson, and Miss Jessie Chapman. Miss Judy Lewis gave an excellent exhibition of fancy skipping and a fine tap dance. Mr. Steve Mason played two xylophone solos and Miss Aletheia Benson sang two solos. Father Christmas was a welcome visitor after supper. Speeches were made by Mr. A. McFadyen, Mr. C. Wilmshurst, Mr. H. Adams, and Mr. Benson replied, and presented his daughter with a gold key. Mr. C. Wilmshurst was an efficient M.C. •
