Pretty Lass/ who was recently successful at the Feilding Meeting at, only .her third outing to date, will probably do all her holiday racing m the Taranaki district, where she is trained. On her two efforts at Feilding she should not be long in adding to her account. Pretty Lass, who is a three-year-old dark bay filly by the Tea Tray horse Kiosk, is not in the Stud Book, tor which she is not eligible lor admission, but in some recent reports she has^ erroneously been credited*, as Being descended from the imported mare Shebeen 11, the .grandain, of Tavern Knight, Wild Time, and others. Pretty Lass's dsim, Lucky Lass, who neve?raced, was a 1923'mare-by.;Tree Eucirne from Fluke; a 1910 mare>y Vladimir from Barmaid, an 1899 mare by Handsome Jack from an unnamed mare by Barbarian. . Barmaid raced-a few times about the Manawatu about thirty years ago, and she -winner for Mr. W J. Tucker at Woodville hi 1905. Fluke .had a race or two without winning, and other progeny -of Barmaid, including Vice ConsuLand Longmaid, were not worth racing. Lucky Lass, prior to, leaving Pretty from the fact *hat Shebeen II left a mare who was named Barmaid. _ . Pretty Lass is owned by Mr. J. A.
