THE CHILDREN'S WORLD
It may, of course, be taken for granted that the World's Fair to be held next year in New York will be the biggest thing of the kind ever yet projectS; says the "Manchester Guardian." It will also contain several novel features. One of them:*will be a section, occupying seven acres, which will be knowii'as "The Children's World." This will include two large playgrounds, one for younger and one for older children, where; .the games will be supervised by tralried directors, thus permitting parents.;; to leave children there jii the assurance that they will comfe: to no. harm. Among the attractions will be a marionette, theatre, special movie pictures, an exhibition of/pets, a museum, of science, a doll's house pavilion, a monkey island, a miniature elevated railway, and performances of magic. More thrilling than any of these will be a descent into a mine and a ride on a burro up a volcano spouting lava and steam. The needs of children of quiet tastes will be met by the provision of rooms where they will have facilities for reading or practising arts I and crafts, or playing "'with toys, or [taking part in group games. For the benefit of parents there will-be exhibits oi up-to-date children's clothing, ifurniture, and playthings*.
