RECREATION CLUB

NEWLANDS AND PAPARANGI

Each month during the winter the Newlands and Paparangi Recreation Club held a most enjoyable dance at the Newlands School, and the series was concluded recently with a particularly successful and novel evening.

A masked dance was won by Mrs. Petrie and Mr. Frazer. Mr. and Mrs. L. Tunley were the winners of the Monte Carlo, and the competition for a box of chocolates was won by Mr. Graham.

Mr. M. Cornwell (president) made presentations to Mr. Titshall (jun.) and Mrs. Titshall, the winners of the Monte Carlo aggregate dance, which had been held with keen interest throughout the season. He also announced the holding of a dance on New Year's Eve to conclude the year's activities. Many novelty items, he said, were being arranged.

Thanks were then extended to Miss Lily Kettlewell and partner for their demonstration of ballroom dancing given on a previous occasion. The thanks of the club was also expressed to members who had given valuable assistance throughout the year.
