FURTHER DECREES

JEWS IN GERMANY

MAY NOT OWN OR DRIVE CARS

(Independent Cable Service.)

BERLIN, December 4

| Jews have been banned from the principal streets, all places of amusement, and bathing establishments. The bans do not apply to the Jewish residential areas in north and central Berlin, which will become ghettoes. Jews must obtain permits to cross them. A decree forbidding German Jews lo own or drive cars and motor-cycles declares that the murder of Dr. yon j Rath by the Polish Jew Grynszpan | proves them unsuitable to possess motor vehicles.

Between 30,000 and 40,000 Jewishowned cars in Berlin alone and 100,000 throughout the country will be brought to a standstill by this decree.

An official statement advises Jews to give up their dwellings in or near all important streets, as they will eventually be excluded from such streets.
