FILM ACTRESS INVOLVED
NEW YORK, December 3
Mr. William Buckner, a debonair 31----year-old broker, broke a date with the film actress Loretta Young yesterday in order to keep one with Federal agents, who arrested him on a milliondollar bond fraud charge.
Mr. Buckner indignantly denied tonight that he used Broadway chorus girls to lobby Congressmen. "I am amazed at the charges; they are ridiculous," he declared alter his release on bail with his partner, Mr. William Gillespie, aged 39.
Mr. Buckner, w,ho is a member of a prominent financial family, was arrested as he was preparing to fly to Hollywood after his arrival back from England. He telephoned Loretta Young and explained the situation, adding: "This will affect the lives of us both."
The Press is publishing messages from Loretta Young which were found in Mr. Buckner's luggage. They are couched in the most affectionate terms.
Mr. Buckner denied keeping open house for Congressmen at Washington for three months and spending 5000 dollars on a lavish party at which chorus girls assisted Mr. Gillespie and himself in an attempt to secure legislation guaranteeing interest on his worthless bonds.
