The disaster to the flying boat Calpurnia in Irak ("Business Woman" considers) draws attention to the risks business people are compelled to take with valuable papers and documents, because of no alternate route. Many New Zealanders may be deprived of their Christmas mails.whereas if they had been sent by steamer they would have landed safely at their destination. "Surely the Government could arrange with the shipping corn-
panics to carry a few mail bags in their ships' holds? I am quite sure many people would gladly pay an extra surcharge to ensure the safe arrival of their correspondence."
