JUNIOR AND WOMEN'S TITLES
The Auckland Centre asked the N.Z.A.A.A. Council this week to approve of March 25 for the junior and women's national championship meeting at Auckland. Approval was' given, although it was suggested by several of those present that the date was rather late. If this is the view of the majority of the centres, Mr. R. W. McVilly intimated, that the council could ask Auckland to suggest another date. Apart from the fact that near the end of March is late in the season to hold a championship meeting, the date selected is one which might not be convenient for juniors, particularly if they are attending school. If it is ascertained that the date is not satisfactory to the other centres, no time should be lost in an endeavour to select another. Consideration is due to the athletes that they may regulate their training in such a way a3 to be at their top when the meeting is held.
