EUROPEAN REFUGEES
ADMISSION TO AUSTRALIA
15,000 IN THREE YEARS
CANBERRA, December 1
The Commonwealth Government has decided to admit 15,000 European refugees over a period of three years. Only those classes whose entry will not disturb existing labour conditions, or individuals with capital or experience to establish and develop industries, will be given special consideration.
Legislation is being introduced in the Senate immediately containing drastic provisions for the registration of aliens in Australia.
