PERSONAL NOTES
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. A. Gill have returned to their home in Rawhiti Terrace, after spending some time at Te Marua. Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Edkins, Kerikeri, are spending several days in Auckland prior to leaving for Wellington. Mrs. Duncan Stout,' Mrs. G. Spiers, Mrs. Rawson, Mrs. Fitchley, Mr. and Mrs. Castle are Wellington visitors to Christchurch for the Christ's College sports. Mrs. W. F. Field, who attended the executive meeting of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union in Wellington, has returned to her home in Palmerston North. The Hon. Mr. Justice Northcroft and Mrs. Northcroft, who have been spending some weeks in the North Island will leave tomorrow night on their return to Christchurch. Mrs. Welton Hogg, Lower Hutt, is visiting Palmerston North for the Manawatu Ladies' Golf Club tournament. Mr. and Mrs. Carmichael, who were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. H. B: Ginger on a motor tour of the north, returned on Wednesday and left in the evening by the Awatea for Sydney. Mrs. Alan Park, Bolton Street, is in Palmerston North for the golf club tournament. Mr. and Mrs. W. Gee-Taylor, Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McKenzie, Riccarton. Miss L. Lucas (a member of the executive of the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Council), and Miss E. Harkness, are visiting Palmerston North for the ladies' golf tournament. The Misses Patricia arid Valeric Riddiford, who have been in England for the past three years, will return to New Zealand at the end of the week by the Rotorua. They will visit their aunt, Mrs. Arkwright, in Marton, before going to Christchurch to join their mother, Mrs. H. F. Nicoll. Nurse Cameron, R.R.C. (Rotorua), and Mrs. T. Fleming (Opotiki), are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bain, 7 Boston Terrace. Miss Peggy Charlesworth, Wellington, is the guest of Miss Patricia Lewer, Palmerston North. Miss H. A. Searell, who has been spending several weeks in Wellington, returned to Christchurch yesterday. Mrs. R. B. Holmes (Auckland), Mrs. G. Waring (Sydney), and Miss H. Calder (Christchurch) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mesdames G. V. Vallance (Napier), D. Cutbertson (Palmerston North), and T. S. Harkness (Wanganui), are among the guests at the Empire Hotel. Guests at the Midland Hotel include Mesdames L. Walker (San Francisco), C. Carslyle (Perth), E. Reay (Christchurch). Those staying at the Hotel Waterloo include Mesdames I. G. Glennie (Auckland), Brian Bassett (Christchurch), C. Bridger (Whakatane), Ongley (Palmerston North), Misses I. Glazebrook (Hastings), and Mary McLean (Toronto). Mrs. Woodhouse arid Mrs. F. Reid, Dunedin, are among the guests at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. J. C. Holmes, Mrs. Holmes, sen., Mrs. Irving (Masterton), Mrs. G. Hewitt (San Francisco), Mrs. Miles Weston and Miss Betty Weston (Sydney)" are staying at the Midland Hotel.
