LEAVES FOR PALMERSTON

NORTH

Piloted by Commander G. Gerrand, Union Airways, Limited's, new Lockheed Electra machine Kaka, which has been assembled at Rongotai Aerodrome, left for Palmerston North this afternoon. Accompanying Commander Gerrand were Mr. L. Mangham (chief engineer of the company) and three members of the ground staff, who were brought down from Palmerston North to assemble the machine.

As soon as the radio equipment has been installed the machine will take up. the Wellington-Auckland service, and on October 22, when the new timetable will start, it will join the Wel-lington-Dunedin service.
