FEW UNEMPLOYED
RESULT OF LABOUR POLICY (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, October 5. An outline of the work that the Labour Government had done during its term of office to relieve unemployment was given by the Minister of Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) when speaking at Clive., Mr. Armstrong said that during the time the Government had been in office unemployment, had gradually decreased until today it was practically nonexistent. He dealt with the Government's social security scheme, denying that the scheme would interfere with the work of friendly societies. At the conclusion of the meeting a vote of thanks to Mr. Armstrong and confidence in the Government was carried, cheers being given for the Prime Minister and Mr. Armstrong.
