TEA MARKETS
The tea market at Colombo this week, according to private advices received in Wellington, was fully firm for common sorts. Medium teas^advanced Id a lb and fine quality by id to id. There was an active demand for all grades and the quality of the offering showed a slight improvement. Smaller offerings are catalogued for next week's sale. The Calcutta market was closed. The London market was fully firm with prices unchanged, . (By Telegraph—Press, Association.) DUNEDIN, October 5. Mr. L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report oh the Colombo tea auction of October 4:—Fine teas were firm to dearer, medium grades advanced £d to id, and quotations for common teas remained steady at last week's prices, the quality of the teas offered being useful. At next week's auction 1,750,0001b has been catalogued for sale. EASTERN GOODS. Cable advices from Singapore received this week show practically no change in the tapioca and sago market. Black pepper has advanced l-16d per lb; white is unchanged. Canned pineapples prices with the exception of one pack showing a fractional advance, are about the same as last week. i
