CANDIDATE INTRODUCED
. Mrs. J. J. Patterson was hostess at an afternoon parly held! at her residence in Carlton Gore Road, Roseneath, yesterday. The function was arranged to enable ladies of Wellington Central electorate to meet Mr. Will Appleton, the National Party candidate.
Mrs. Stone, president of the women's division, in introducing' Mr. Appleton to the gathering, referred to his good qualities and civic. activities, and said that -Wellington Central, was most fortunate in having a candidate of Mr. Appleton's calibre.
• Mr. Appleton, who was accompanied by Mrs. Appleton, gave a very interesting address, at the conclusion of which a delightful afternoon tea was served, votes of thanks being accorded Mrs. Patterson for her hospitality and Mr. Appleton for his address.
Among those present were Mesdames Batten, Burnard, Irvine, Ntewton. Pack, Creed, McGregor. Stunner, Wilson, Petch, Morton, and the Misses S. Eager, E. Scott, M. Spencer, M. and F. Low, and Richardson.
