SYBIL THORNDIKE'S "WAR"
War on stage censorship has been declared by Dame Sybil Thorndike, who has stated that she will never make a speech without condemning the censorship. According to Dame Sybil it can be killed only by ridicule and because of it people who have anything to say use any medium but the theatre, for they realise that their work would not pass the censor.
