PLEASANT STAFF DANCE

Over 200 guests were present at the Assembly Hall, Brougham Street, when the management of J. G. Marshall, Ltd., held their annual dance. The hostesses were Mrs. J. G. Marshall (wearing, a smart gown of midnight blue cloque) and Mrs. W. J. Marshall (wearing a model gown of white satin heavily embroidered with pearls and | silver beads). The hall was artistically decorated with spring flowers and palms. Songs rendered by Mrs. P. Hendra and Mr. Will J. Mason were heartily appreciated. A "grand march" and several novelty dances caused a good deal of excitement especially when all the i "Prince Charmings" had to find their "Cinderellas'" shoes. A gay sight was [created when hundreds of balloons were let down from the ceiling and intermingled with the dancers. The novelty dances were won by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jackson. A presentation of a handsome clock was made to Mr. R. Burson, a popular member of the staff on the occasion of his approaching marriage. Mr. Rolf c, superintendent of the Free Ambulance, thanked Mr. Marshall and guests for their generous donations which amounted to £10 odd. The dance finished with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem.
