FIRE AT GISBORNE

GISBORNE, January-28,
At 10.30 this evening fire broke out in a two-storey shop in the .'centre of the town, Th,e flames had a firm hold wlieji the brigade was summoned, and, the "upstairs portion, used as a •storeroom, and the shop below, were gutted, but smart work by the brigade prevented the blaze spreading to adjoining premises.
The building, which is owned by Messrs. 'A. Owen and F. Neill, was occupied by Mr. N. L. Davy, hairdresser.; His - stock -was -insured. ,
