SYDNEY, January 27.

Another heat of the 18-footers' sailing championship of the world was sailed today on the harbour, some boats having to shelter during a heavy storm. Taree won from the Queensland boat, Aberdare, with the New Zealander Irina third.

Taree, with 510 points, despite the fact that there is another- heat on Saturday,.cannot"be beaten by Aberdare, with 254 points. Thus Taree wins the championship. Irina has 78 points:

The other New Zealanders finished well in the rear, Riptide making the best showing.
