■. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club held its annual "Daily Mail" competitions at Trentham over ranges 300, 500, 600, 800, 900, and 1000 yards, with seven shots at each range and two optional sights.

Weather conditions were windy and by the afternoon very boisterous conditions ■ prevailed, making accurate shooting impossible. > ■ • . The, "Daily Mail" Cup, which is awarded to the marksmen with highest rifle score over all ranges, resulted in a tie between Riflemen T. Goodall and H. Crownshaw, with the score-of 174 each out of a possible 210. The short-range. Aggregate for the Fellingham Memorial Cup, awarded to the highest scorer with" handicap, over 300, 500, and 600 yards, was won by Rifleman N. Kitchen with 102 points and ,H. Crownshaw was runner-up with 99.

The long-range aggregate for the Luke Cup awarded to the highest] scorer with handicap over 800, 900, and 1000 yards, resulted in a tie between Rifleman L. Cheyne and S. Love with 88 points each.
