The list, which was made public today, is as follows:—President, Sir Stephen Allen, Morrinsville; vico-gresi-dents: Auckland, Mr. John Astley, Mr. W. E. Lewisham, Dr. Frank Macky. Dr. R. G. McElroy. Mr Nelson Mitchell, Mi. Charles Nathan, and Mr. Frank VVinstone; South Auckland, Mr. J. R. Fow; Hamilton, Mr. 1. B. Gow; Edgecumbe, Mr. J. E. Leesqn; Morrinsville, Mr. Howard Smith, Patumahoe; North Auckland, Mr. .G. H. Guy. Kaikohe.

In the choice of officers an endeavour has been made to provide as broad a basis of representation as possible and the personnel embraces farming, manufacturing, commerce, and the professions. Several sub-committees have been appointed to deal with particular departments of the association's activities. Offices have been secured and are being made ready for immediate occupation,

It was stated on behalf of the association that those who had been responsible for a large amount ol preliminary w>rk were 'particularly pleased with the response made to their requests for co-operation. There was an evident and very widespread feeling that such ah association was Urgently needed and that the march towards State domination over private life and individual-affairs had already gone too far. Letters of appreciation, accompanied by offers of assistance, had poured 'n from all parts of the province and there were indications that similar associations with a common purpose would be established in other provinces.
