Mrs. Chow, who went to China more than ten years ago, writes under the pen-name of "Wu Ai-lien," and has been contributing articles ,on* Chinese women and their 'activities to. foreign magazines- and daily newspapers, principally the "North China Daily: News" of Shanghai. Mrs. Soong, well known socially, won fame as the most, plucky woman of Shanghai by her several visits to the war front, taking comforts to the soldiers, in ■ spite of the attendant danger. After the conference, the two delegates are expected to ( tour the Commonwealth, and will visit .friends.
Owing to the great • expansion- • of health services throughout the Union and the scarcity of qualified assistance in- South Africa the Johannesburg General Hospital is arranging to bring 24 staff nurses from England at an estimated cost of about £1000.
