SERIOUS CHARGE

AUCKLAND, This Day,
When Alfred George Clegg, labourer, aged 46, who had twice previously been remanded, appeared at the Police Court today charged with assaulting a woman near Albany on January 14, the police withdrew a charge 'of breaking and entering. An additional charge, however, was preferred, namely, assaulting a woman with intent .to. commit rape. '-■ .■.
