CHRISTCHURCH, January 25,

The decomposed and naked body of a man whose identity is unknown but whose age is thought to have been between 25 and 30, was ' found' in reserve land- at Waimairi, a short distance from the beach, at 3 o'clock this afternoon. A double-barrelled shotgun was lying beside the body, the triggers being tied with two strings leading to each of the man's big toes. The skull was smashed, apparently from the shotgun discharge. The shotgun contained one' live and one discharged cartridge. There was no clothing near the body.
